Meet Our Team
The Friendly Face Of The Tin Hat Centre.....
Chris Tomlinson
ManagerI joined The Tin Hat Centre in May 2022 and led the day-to-day running of the charity.
My role covers supporting staff and volunteers, managing funding and finances, working with trustees, and helping develop services that keep the centre sustainable and relevant to the community.
I’ve worked in youth and community settings for 26 years, most of that time in leadership roles within local projects and centres. Being Nottingham born and bred, working in a space like The Tin Hat charity feels personal to me.
What matters to me is making sure the centre remains reliable and welcoming, somewhere people can access support, connect with others, and feel part of their community.
Shannon Taylor
Assistant ManagerI joined the team in August 2025 previously working in mental health management for 5 years prior.
In my role at The Tin Hat I work to keep the centre running efficiently, handling day-to-day admin, bookkeeping, financial reporting and exploring new funding idea’s.
I work closely with the Centre Manager Chris ensuring policies are followed, health and safety is adhered and support with recruitment and staff development.
The managers at the Tin Hat together, work well to provide line management for staff and volunteers to keep operations smooth and the team supported.
Jenny Oliver
I’ve worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years, building up a strong understanding of both customer service and what it takes to keep a café running well day to day. For the past two years, I’ve been the Café Manager at The Tin Hat Centre, where I oversee the team, manage operations, and make sure everything runs smoothly.
I enjoy creating a welcoming environment where people feel comfortable and valued, whether they’re popping in for a quick drink or staying a while. Supporting the team is a big part of my role too, making sure everyone feels confident in what they’re doing and that we’re working well together.

I’m reliable, approachable, and always happy to help out wherever needed, whether that’s supporting colleagues or having a quick chat with a regular who’s popped in for a drink.
